This is where I'll be announcing all my comings and goings.  In addition to writing novels I also teach creative writing, give readings, seminars, talks . . . all sorts.  If you're interested in booking me, use the form on the Contact page.

Follow me on Twitter.  Not that I say anything interesting, mind you.  http://twitter.com/MartynWaites

Upcoming Events:

West Bromwich Library, Tuesday 28th September, 7pm.

Mark Billingham, Andrew Taylor and myself will be appearing there, maybe reading from our books, answering questions about them, chatting about them or anything else that takes our fancy.  It'll be fun.  I'll be there as myself and half of Tania.

Birmingham Central Library, Wednesday 29th September, 7pm.

The three of us again, doing the same thing again, this time a few miles to the left.  I must say, I'm looking forward to these two dates as I went to college in Birmingham and I'm really looking forward to going back there.  Hope to see you there.

Waterstones, High Street, Colchester, Friday October 1st, 1pm.

Tania Carver (yes, both of us) will be appearing to chat about the new novel, THE CREEPER, the last one, THE SURROGATE, to sign copies of them and, indeed, anything else you want signing.

Bouchercon, World Mystery Convention, San Francisco, October 14 - 16.

Well, how can you say no to San Francisco?  I couldn't.  I'm going to be there for the whole convention (and even longer).  I'll be appearing in a couple of things - a panel alongside Mark Billingham, Karin Slaughter, Denise Mina and John Connelly talking about things we love and hate (but mainly hate) and also taking part in a rehearsed reading of Declan Hughes' award winning play about Dashiell Hammett and Lillian Hellman - 'I Can't Get Started'.  Another cracking line up for that - apart from me there's Alison Gaylin, Mark Billingham, Christa Faust and Brett Battles.  It's directed by Clair Lamb.  Should be fun.

If you happen to be passing, come and say hello.  When I'm not doing that I'll most probably be in the bar.  Or out with Christa Faust looking for a restaurant to top last year's fantastic Brazilian meat food coma fest.

Bit old this, but I like it.  Check out the new podcast with the Yorkshire Post.  I talk about the continuing relevence of Raymond Chandler, my work with kids in prisons and the socially excluded, and of course my own stuff.  Great interview, excellent questions. And yes, we are in a bar.  What a surprise.  Here it is: http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/highlights/Listen-online-Speak-no-Evil.5362150.jp
